Technology's spread is increasing at an astounding rate. From the invention of cars which took 62 years to reach 50 million users to Pokemon Go which reached the same number in under three weeks. This raises some important questions that we need to consider as the diffusion of innovations increases exponentially:
While I did attempt to verify the timings above, it turns out it's not that easy to do. Firstly there is the issue of comparing "apples with apples" as is discussed here, and then there is also the issue of how to measure users. Is it active users, registered users, etc? However, regardless of the accuracy of the numbers what is abundantly clear is that technology is spreading and growing at an increasingly rapid rate. This will change business, society and yes, even education.
